Lord of the Rings - the chasm at Khazad-dûm

Matte paintings for the chasm that Gandalf falls into below the bridge at Khazad-dûm, from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings: Fellowshipo of the Ring.

These were created using reference photos of rock textures from the minature set that was built for parts of the Balrog sequence, then camera projected onto some basic cliff geometry to create a little bit of parallax.
